    Position: Band 6 Occupational Therapist

    Location: Wales

    Contract Duration: 19th August 2024 - 6th October 2024

    Hours: Part-time (minimum 22.5 hours per week)

    Our client Trust is a healthcare provider in Bridgend, Wales. It offers a range of acute and specialist services, including emergency care, maternity services, and surgical procedures. The trust is part of the NHS Wales network and focuses on delivering high-quality care to the local community while striving for continuous improvement and patient safety.

    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist. The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based, recovery-focused Occupational Therapy specialist assessments and interventions to a defined caseload across various wards, including the Assessment ward, Treatment wards, and the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions based on the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO).
    • Deliver recovery-focused and evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs.
    • Manage a defined caseload effectively across the Assessment ward, Treatment wards, and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
    • Utilize recognized outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of assessments and interventions.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and recovery outcomes.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of Occupational Therapy services and initiatives.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant registration (e.g., HCPC).
    • Proven experience in delivering Occupational Therapy within mental health settings.
    • Knowledge and application of MOHO in clinical practice.
    • Strong ability to use evidence-based assessments and outcome measures.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work flexibly and manage a varied caseload effectively.

    Desirable Attributes:

    • Previous experience working in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
    • Additional training or qualifications in mental health and recovery-based practices.
