We are looking for a senior occupational therapist for one of the trust in South London.The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute and community healthcare services to the residents of southwest London and Surrey. It serves a population of nearly 500,000 people, offering a wide range of healthcare services, from emergency care to specialist treatments.
The Trust uses only DE mode of payment.
Description:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex cases involving neurological conditions such as stroke, head injury, multiple sclerosis (MS), and Parkinson's disease, as well as expertise in rehabilitation and long-term conditions for adults and older adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with stroke, head injuries, MS, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological and long-term conditions.
- Deliver targeted rehabilitation programs to help patients regain or maintain independence and improve their quality of life.
- Manage a caseload of adult and older adult patients, ensuring high standards of care in line with current best practices and clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, and social workers, to provide holistic care.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff, students, and therapy assistants.
- Participate in service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of occupational therapy services within the Trust.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience working with stroke, head injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological conditions.
- Expertise in rehabilitation and management of long-term conditions for adults and older adults.
- Strong understanding of patient-centered care with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to service development.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice.
