  • We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with at least 12 months of full-time experience (or the equivalent hours) on an acute ward, who are seeking their next challenge. As a Registered Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will be invited to work within the integrated multidisciplinary team. The hospital has a 14-bed mixed unit caring for patients who require ICU (level 3) and HDU (level 2) care.

    Description:

    As a nurse on the ICU, you will be:

    • Responsible for the care of critically ill patients and their families.
    • Recognising and treating patients as individuals.
    • Administering medications and treatment within local/national guidelines.
    • Maintaining Trust/NMC documentation.
    • Demonstrating the ability to meet our trust values.
    • Having appropriate communication skills across the multidisciplinary team.
    • Ensuring patients receive compassionate care and maintain dignity.
    • Acting as a role model for junior staff.

    Skills and Experience:

    • NMC Registered General Nurse.
    • Equivalent to 12 months full-time, recent experience in an Acute ward setting.
    • Knowledge of Intensive Care nursing.
    • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of acutely ill patients.
    • Manual dexterity for the administration of intravenous treatments.
    • Standing for long periods.
    • Ability to assist effectively in the movement and manual handling of patients in line with trust manual handling procedures.
    • Experience in resuscitation of patients.
