  • We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist for a Trust in North London that provides a range of mental health services, including acute and community-based care for adults and children. The Trust is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care through its network of hospitals, clinics, and community teams. Please note that the Trust operates on DE payment methods.

    Description:

    • Work closely with the OT & AHP Lead and junior OT to develop and establish high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy pathways in a community rehabilitation setting.
    • Manage a caseload and provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions across the Enfield Community Rehab Team, ensuring safe discharge.
    • Embed rehabilitation principles and develop the rehabilitation pathway within Enfield.
    • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments, focusing on enhancing daily living skills and engagement in meaningful activities.
    • Offer time-limited interventions with clear goals established with service users and the clinical team.
    • Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance within the Multi-Disciplinary Team and relevant outside agencies.
    • Contribute to all elements of the rehabilitation pathway, including community and inpatient care planning.

    Requirements:

    • Post-graduate experience working with people with mental health conditions relevant to the specialty.
    • Experience with group and individual occupational therapy interventions.
    • Knowledge of mental health conditions, specifically psychosis.
    • Experience in managing and supervising staff and students.
    • Active involvement in service changes and quality improvement.
    • Experience using specialized OT assessments (e.g., ACIS, VQ).
    • Experience working with supported and residential care providers and closely with social care.
    • Expert knowledge of the occupational therapy process.
    • Highly skilled verbal and written communication abilities across various service user and staffing groups.
    • Ability to reflect on and understand personal perspectives and cultural background and their influence on thinking.
