  • We are looking for a senior occupational therapist for one of the trusts in East Anglia. The trust is a large NHS organization providing community health, mental health, and learning disability services. The trust's core mission is to deliver high-quality care that meets the needs of the communities it serves, focusing on mental health, community health services, and social care.

    Description:

    • Work as a senior Occupational Therapist in Secure Mental Health Services, providing a range of specialist assessments and interventions and supporting carers and families.
    • Assess patients admitted to the Secure Service wards.
    • Utilize specialist assessments when presented with complex cases.
    • Make decisions on the level of treatment intervention required.
    • Undertake treatment planning, communicating, and negotiating treatment plans and clinical reasoning for intervention with patients and their carers.
    • Communicate agreed treatment/care plans to multi-disciplinary team colleagues and partnership agencies and liaise with them at formal and informal meetings.
    • Undertake manual handling assessments, ensuring other professionals and carers are aware of manual handling needs.
    • Work with others to modify aspects of the environment to empower patients and facilitate optimal functional performance.
    • Liaise with Social Services and Housing Organizations concerning the provision of equipment and home adaptations.
    • Manage a complex caseload.

    Skills:

    • Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating a range of conditions.
    • Ability to develop and implement effective rehabilitation and discharge plans.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Demonstrates evidence of recent CPD and an ability to reflect on experiences.
    • Experience with community-based pathways is advantageous.
