Job Description:

As a registered nurse working as part of a ward/department team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of children with medical and surgical illnesses. Your role will include promoting a safe working environment for the children in our care.

As a registered nurse, you will be personally accountable for your practice and must adhere to the NMC standards expected of you. You will serve as an effective professional role model for staff and maintain your professional development through ongoing education and training, ensuring that PREP requirements are met along with all mandatory training.

Skills:

• Registered Nurse - Children
• Computer literate
• Experience in assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care
• Ability to work with and mentor junior staff
• Awareness of professional responsibilities
• Understanding of normal child development

Desirable:

• IV administration course
• Experience in undertaking a small research project
• Understanding of the effects of hospital admission on a child and their family
