- Description
We need passionate and experienced mental health nurses to join a well-established team at an acute hospital in East England. The role involves assisting and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations.
Description:
The ideal candidate will be committed to teamwork, have a strong sense of accountability, and be able to work under pressure. The post holder will provide quality, evidence-based nursing advice, support, and care for service users with both mental and physical health needs, as well as their carers, within a multidisciplinary setting.
As key members of the rehabilitation team, Registered Nurses will provide high-standard, individualized, holistic, and evidence-based patient-focused care using the nursing process. They will also act as vital links between patients, carers, relatives, and therapists to ensure consistent focus on patient outcomes.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and treatment.
- Set the Expected Date of Discharge (EDD) through negotiation between the patient, carer, team, and internal/external agencies to achieve a safe and effective discharge that closely meets the patient's needs.
- As a reflective practitioner, actively promote reflective practice within the team, questioning clinical practice and taking appropriate action where gaps in knowledge or experience may compromise the health and safety of others.
- Adhere to the Trust's risk assessment and risk management processes.
- Provide patients and their families/carers with information on the standards they should expect from the team.
Skills:
- Registered Nurse with current registration (Mental Health / LD / Adult) appropriate to the job role.

- Experience in change management, organizing, and prioritizing workloads.
- Ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge.
- Demonstrated professional development relevant to the care group.
- Ability to assess and manage clinical risk.
