Job Summary:
- Role: Specialist Occupational Therapist - Critical Care
- Location: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
- Team: Experienced Critical Care Therapy team
- Schedule: 7 days a week
- Experience Required: Acute hospital setting experience; critical care experience not essential
- Key Responsibilities: Functional assessment and rehabilitation, patient-centered care, collaboration with multidisciplinary team, discharge planning support
- Supervision: Clinical and leadership development provided by highly specialist team
Main Duties:
- Clinical Practice: Assess, diagnose, and manage a specialist caseload of complex patients autonomously.
- Collaboration: Work with Care Groups to ensure high standards of care and optimal patient flow.
- Training & Supervision: Assist in delivering training, supervision, and appraisals within the team.
- Specialist Advice: Provide expert advice within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust.
- Service Development: Engage in projects to enhance services, training, and learning opportunities.

Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Essential: Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Essential: HCPC registration
Work Experience:
- Essential: Broad range of pre and post qualification experience, NHS experience, relevant clinical practice, teaching/student experience
- Desirable: Audit and research participation
Knowledge:
- Essential: CPD evidence, specialist clinical reasoning
