  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated specialist physiotherapist to work in the community setting of one of the largest community hospitals in East Anglia. The Trust delivers a wide range of services, including community nursing, therapy services, specialist care for children and adults, and end-of-life care. The Trust focuses on helping people stay healthy and independent in their homes or close to where they live, minimizing the need for hospital visits.

    Client pay mechanism: Direct Engagement only.

    Description:

    You will be working as a Specialist Band 7 Community Physiotherapist, supporting patients in the community setting and reaching the Community Hospital ward.

    The successful candidate will lead, plan, coordinate, and evaluate the physiotherapy service while maintaining a strong clinical focus on patients presenting with complex cases as an autonomous practitioner.

    • Clinical Role: Lead assessments, reviews, and therapy interventions for complex cases in West Norfolk.
    • Service Support: Provide support across multiple therapy teams and contribute to service development.
    • Team Development: Oversee CPD, PDP, and training for therapy team members.
    • Collaborative Care: Work with integrated teams, GPs, and agencies; participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
    • Patient Interaction: Conduct comprehensive assessments, manage treatment plans, and communicate complex information.
    • Professional Accountability: Undertake risk assessments, maintain professional development, and supervise/mentor staff.
    • Organisational Duties: Participate in audits, follow Trust policies, and ensure proper documentation and workload management.

    Skills:

    • Able to kneel, bend, stoop, and work in cramped environments.
    • Able to manoeuvre limbs of around 5-6kg.
    • Able to manoeuvre patients using handling aids.
    • Must have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
    • Good observational and reporting skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
    • Ability to communicate with other members of the MDT both verbally and non-verbally.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients who may have complex needs.
    • 2 years of NHS experience.
    • Evidence of working at an advanced clinical level.
    • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training & short courses.
    • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
